Exactly 4cm of rain on Saturday and the CoC is watering at a reading of 4.5. Should be a criminal offence.

0.0 – 4.0 Heavy, very soft, and waterlogged 4.1 – 6.0 Soft, with noticeable give in the surface 5.0 – 6.9 Good to Soft 7.0 – 8.9 Good 8.1 – 10.0 Good going, ideal for fast racing 9.0 – 10.9 Good to Firm Watering at a going stick less than 7 should not be allowed by the authorities. Even then it is debatable, to water at 4.5 needs an enquiry imo. |

So if the ground was 7.0 on Saturday how many runners do you think the Chases would have this weekend. Proper Jump horses need proper soft ground

i might be wrong, be the selective watering mentioned was on monday, aside from that i don't think they should be touching winter ground unless the conditions are extreme / dangerous
