Probably loses a couple of grand a month punting, makes about £12-20k a month from his revenue streams. He's done a very good job at marketing himself and bringing people racing. Syndicates are the future of racing for sure.

That can happen though, it can also go the other way. Fellows gave him his best days in France. Haven't heard anything about She's Perfect. I still 100% think he should have cashed in on her

I think (and I could well be wrong here and don't want to be disrespectful) but I think he will move their lesser horses who maybe will spend most of their lives running throughout the autumn and winter months on the All Weather to the likes of MA....He does the best job with them so seems sensible to me.

As for Appleby, he has proven what he can do with group horses, albeit sprinters where the step up from handicaps to group races, is much easier....
in no doubt if Mick had Charlies horses and vice versa, that Mick would do the better of the 2......lol, when comparing like with like

He may also just be moving due to location.....if he keeps all of his horses down South you ostracise most people north of the Milton Keynes!....It makes good business sense to have horses spread around geographically....his syndicate numbers are clearly increasing.

Would love to know what wage he takes for himself.
Good luck to him though, not easy keeping all those owners happy.
Too big, too quick, too many horses imo Would love to know what wage he takes for himself.Good luck to him though, not easy keeping all those owners happy.
Good luck to Basher but far too much of a 'lads culture' attached to this club. 'The lads' will not be patient and racehorse ownership is all about patience, unless you get lucky!

Going to the races on a Saturday in the Summer has become a "no go" for me even in the Owners and Trainers. Football chants halfway through a race and "Oi,Oi Saveloy" if they back a winner

+1 Based on information from 2025, Basher Watts runs a horse racing syndicate and reportedly charges around £10,200 a year per horse as a management fee for his syndicates.
Management Fee: This fee is in addition to the initial share purchase, membership fees, and training costs.
Operating Costs: For some horses, he has charged approximately £750 to £850 a month to manage costs.
Syndicate Structure: He manages a large operation with 600-700 clients and multiple horses, often providing weekly video updates.
Syndicate Participation: He often retains a percentage stake in the horses he manages (e.g., 7% in She's Perfect).
These fees are to cover his time, effort, and management of the syndicate's horses.
13 horses this season, that's a lot of hassle but very well paid as a full time job

... Nothing new, I recall a big crowd of rugby fans at Newbury about 40 yrs ago singing and phecking about. Its only more noticeable now because of social media.

Syndicates are great and I'm not knocking them but when you add he sells 1% shares for £400 buy in per horse then £40 a month, that's crazy money he is making. Give him his due, most are sold out, he will need plenty winners to keep them all happy.

... If the owners of Shes Perfect were only in it to make money they would have sold. ???
You seem to be going on the assumption all syndicate members are joining to make a profit, gambling will only be a small part for most is my guess.

If most have 1% share I doubt they were ever in it to make money. they were offered way over the odds for the filly and should have sold imho they voted as one not too, the wrong decision for me, time will tell if they will regret it or not.

Wondering Why looks a smart prospect. I think the business model is perfect. I wouldn't join as they're too lively for me but I can see the appeal. Good on him, great for the sport. Imagine he's making a good £250k+ a year from all revenue streams

I don't think anyone is joining to make money. Selling was obviously financially the right decision but you can't put a price on owning a horse with a community of new friends and dreaming of glory, so in that sense they did the right thing.

Imo, the folk who invest in "basher" are not in it for the money, the inference from some here, is that they are idiots being fleeced.
I don't agree, they are in it for the crack, the excitement, win or lose, obviously, win is better..
And if Watts is making a few quid, 8 don't think the majority of them would hold it against the lads.
Eyes wide open for most of them..

£48k per year to own a 51 rated horse.......sod that for a bag of grapes.
How this industry hasn't sunk is beyond me. Running to win £4k a pop.....how is it worth it.

A decent spud never forgets his late friend…..that’ll do for me.
I said ages ago he seemed a genuine sort of guy, some on here just see someone doing okay for themselves and cant help being jealous/envious. Good luck to him.

Nonsense. Edits losers out of his vids, if he had a terrible day he wont even post it. If hes having a bad day he'll "come inside" to watch a dog "the guvnors" been told cant lose at Sheffield. And surprise surprise it hacks up. Forget the 14 takes when they got beat. One born every day if youre getting sucked into this garbage.
He did a video one day with the greyhound guy. Brighton. Stood next to him all day couldnt pick his nose. Posted a video later on of him in the car park on the way home having a bet on something running elsewhere. Just him in the car park. Guess what. Winner.
He'd already seen it winning.

And the mystery Japanese that offered him 50 billion for his horse ??
They offered me 2 billion for my fridge freezer.
Does that mean its worth 2 billion? Yes if you buying.
