The bookies will know roughly where they stand as I am sure will Racing before she even announces which products are going to be affected.

Racing is to be exempt according to the leak which is a small crumb of comfort I suppose.

No rise in machine gaming duty which is another win for Racing in respect of Levy from shops.

You need another £20k that is not already in an ISA though 1st time. I have nearly all of my savings in either cash or investment ISAs already but I might manage to scrape together £20k for one more year after April 6. I am still not clear if online horse racing is unaffected. I interpreted it as on course or cash in shops would stay on 15% but online would go up to 25%.

Racing Post says all racing including online. Which is good news for us all unless we want to ban betting on horses.

Still not sure how a higher tax will affect problem gamblers though. They will just go skint in 10 days instead of 14.
