"Friday Night Live"
18-25 year olds the target this Winter.
https://www.racingpost.com/news/britain/exclusive-arc-drops-the-racing-league-but-joins-forces-with-itv-for-a-new-friday-night-series-aimed-at-18-25-year-olds-ahs3C7x0EImE/

The future of the Racing League has been left in serious doubt after the team competition lost the support of Arena Racing Company, with the racecourse group and ITV now uniting to create a new Friday night series aimed squarely at those aged between 18 and 25.

Five floodlit meetings will be staged at Newcastle, Wolverhampton and Southwell across January, February and March next year, with each seven-race fixture offering more than £200,000 in prize-money.

More importantly.racing has never been a team sport.
Decent races nevertheless and good prize money

If 18-25 yo haven't got something better to do on  friday night than go racing then I'm a dutchman. This is a midweek punt at best.

Agreed on both points.

I shall miss the racing league because it gave us good, competitive cards that would otherwise not exist, and it was easy enough to tune out the teams and league part if offended.

What drives me up the wall though is the annual imposition of a team aspect onto cards that would be there anyway. I refer of course to the Prestbury Cup.

Was never going to work as most people who liked to bet were only interested in their selection winning.  I found it all a bit childish, but each to their own of course.

Prize money was good and will be missed.

Oi!Oi!
Reports of the death of the Racing League are greatly exaggerated. That was the message sent out by founder Jeremy Wray, who is already working on ways to get the competition staged this year.
Wray had been talking to potential new partners even before the Racing Post broke the news on Monday that Arena Racing Company had dropped its support.

A ridiculous idea from the start. There surely was never any interest in jockeys.
