Very annoying!

Why they don't just suspend and immediately reopen every race automatically for a set period? There's always volume wanting to get on for greening/photo/stewards etc.

By:
The ones where you think youve got the correct opinion that is likey against the grain....are always delayed!!

By:
why would anyone be waiting for the slo mo to be shown before reopening

aye its strange how its went from re-opening nearly every photo seconds after they past the line to a minute or not at all.
only strange thing on here is paudy's involvement in all of this nonsense, and moving the markets, placing bets himself with knowledge nobody else has access to. when all he should be doing is taking his 2% commission and keeping the place running. |

who do we complain to?

who do we complain to?
whoever goes in and makes sure he's not up to all sorts of sh!t. ie nobody. you could mention it to KPMG, they'll ask Fiona to have a look at photo finish irregularities next time she goes in for the audit, fully equipped with her Bsc in Agriculture Plant Science from the University of Bedfordshire. |
By:
Let's be fair here.
There is next to no peer to peer betting in the main on the I/R. Do you really expect BF to bare their chuffers on photo betting that is a foregone conclusion? This is how it is now and has been for some considerable time |
By:
if they're doing anything other than putting the markets up and taking their 2% i would suggest it is illegal. given they have information not freely available to other players on the site.
but this was never fully addressed when they took over because everyone assumed all they were doing was running the place. not using it as another income stream. |
By:
They are Bookmakers and, like everybody are perfectly to participate in the Markets,Hulk.
You don't have to like it but you must accept it |
By:
the 5 figgas went in instantly on the Aramis Grey foto..£8,000 matched 101...cud easily have went up the swanee...of course if theie own money backing and matching its no harm done.
By:
they have a licence to operate an exchange, does that extend to being the biggest player on the exchange ? and is it fair that they operate within the exchange with information that is not freely available to other player on the exchange. thereby creating a very uneven playing field. some may even level it as insider trading, that being the illegal practice of trading on the exchange to one's own advantage through having access to confidential information.
By:
if i know Rico constantly punts horses that shorten, and i own the exchange, i can simply mark his account and track his bets with my own. Nobody else can do that. How is that fair and equitable ?
By:
It is called business,Hulk.
You don't have to like it(anymore than I like boatloads of illegal immigrants landing here and being accommodated in Hotels at our expense) |
By:
nobody on betfair constantly punts horses that shorten. its easy to do with a bookie, and i got booted for it.on here the price can go either way at any given moment.you just have to wait for the lemmings to follow each other over the cliff.
p.s another 40 bagged at suthell |

By:
paudy's traders can move the prices anyway they want, the majority of the dosh on the interface belongs to him. if he wants to move one 22.0 to 7.4 (like he did earlier) he simply deletes all the dosh he's got up to lay it and it collapses. industry follows.
By:
if you lay one for £50 at 11.5 and stick a back in at 12.0. he can see that, and it's not allowed. so he'll whip everything from 11.5 to 9.4 and you're either left with your 11.5 lay or you can red up at 9.4.
the consequence of that is in the bookies it goes 10/1 to 15/2. with zilch punted on it. |
By:
but then everything else would go bigger including the probable winner, so they pay out more
By:
he's not bothered.
By:
if you try to lay and back, or back and lay the same horse. that's the holy grail, he's not running an exchange so someone can come on and lock in a profit. somewhere along the line he's said we're not letting that happen. and yes, some poor s0d probably put his hand up and said yeah, but then everything else will go bigger including the probable winner, so we'll have to pay out more. paudy just looked at him, and said i don't give a sh!t. nobody is locking in a fkng profit on my exchange, back to work.
By:
neither is anyone else. good night.

there are two problems with the they are a bookmaker argument
one is the terms and conditions of the betfair exchange stating betting is peer to peer second is that it is supposed to be an exchange not a sportsbook the other problem is that nobody is supposed to be using any bot which can place multiple bets simultaneously on multiple selections - the bot running the pricing on here is doing that in every single race - that's where all your big priced winners for pence are coming from.- thats a no go in the terms and conditions too . THe existential question is - no exchange equals no winners- but long term winners have paid to use the exchange on a peer to peer basis- can the host company interfere with known customers betting habits on the basis that if they take away the service then there will be no winning for anybody- that sounds like an abuse of power to me and i cant see how that adds up with any of their terms and conditions so are you prepared to suck it up and then be allowed to bet in some races - i cant see how this can be rationalised from the terms and conditions - there should not be patterns to events other than random ones- it is supposed to be a horse race not a simulated sportbook where money is poured in five minutes before the start and horses get traded by a host bot knowing they are also laying the price and cannot lose |

and how exactly could anyone prove any wrongdoin?
