I remember it winning at Haydock in a 3m 4f race. The St Helens Handicap Chase? Midweek. Dad was with me and was sceptical for 7 1/2+ minutes. Got up on that long, long run in they had in those days. Still remember him chuckling as we left the stands. I loved those horses. Just So of course. And another one who won at Haydock over 3m 4f at least was Parsons Boy.

jimnast right about the days when haydock had the edward hamner on a weekday . i remember chesterfields to sit on in the bar and a roaring fire . moved the decent furniture upstairs , put out the fire and i dont visit the course any more . wish they could move kelso a bit closer !

Thanks for replys guys, seem to recall backing it at Warwick one day in a bog, was well behind as leaders swung into straight but gradually they all started to falter and he kept plodding on and thought was going to get up but only managed to get up to 2nd, think had a few quid at 20/1 gutted.
