Needed 5 miles on heavy ground, wonder how Master Vintner will cope with it at Donny. Can't recall any other Vintners in recent years.

I remember it winning at Haydock in a 3m 4f race. The St Helens Handicap  Chase? Midweek. Dad was with me and was sceptical for 7 1/2+ minutes. Got up on that long, long run in they had in those days. Still remember him chuckling as we left the stands. I loved those horses. Just So of course. And another one who won at Haydock over 3m 4f at least was Parsons Boy.

Good evening Donegal

Haydock midweek meetings then were very good some of the very best national hunt horses would often run.
