Race 2 - 12:55pm THE RACING TO SCHOOL AMATEUR JOCKEYS' HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4)
An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of MELTON MOSSY (IRE), ridden by Miss Eleanor Williams. The rider and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the start. The Stewards considered that MELTON MOSSY (IRE) should be deemed a runner as the gelding had every opportunity to jump off and was mounted as the start was effected, before its unruly behaviour resulted in the gelding refusing to race.
