What a season. Mullins wins Grade 1 with a handicapper and the Arc second is well beat. Isn't this kind of thing supposed to be confined to sprint races? Might he have a few more on the flat now?
don't know a lot about the Yankee horses but antiquarian at 40s ish on here looks a bit big
wasn't a pace collapse but ED won in Ascot firm pulling the whole way. if he could settle around there with the likely guaranteed quick pace on the turn, he could be a stone better. which, fair play to howard, alluded to before the race.

obviously wasn't inevitable, but if he was going to be able to race without pulling, on firm going, it was going to be in today's conditions.

Wasn't Awtaad one of the stallions highlighted by Kevin Blake on the barstewards podcast recently, as one he'd like to support as a breeder but his progeny just aren't fashionable at the sales with buyers?
I know Hugh Taylor highlighted a while back that Awtaad's progeny tend to improve with age.
He's clearly capable of getting top class horses eg Anmaat, and tough ones too eg Al Qareem.

Cheers leif. Crazy prices. Barzalona obviously learnt a lot from the earlier race and gave it a peach.
Started well, but ended badly. The last three were terrible performances, particularly Jonquil. You were expect a European horse to pick up in the straight, but he went backwards. A few too many shorter one's won tonight, and the outsiders were impossible. Still always enjoyable, and can't quibble with a small profit both days.
