not re-mount and continue to Race. Should they do so, the Horse
shall be disqualified, the placings amended, and the stake forfeited
and the Rider shall be liable to sanction by the Raceday Stewards

that's why I questioned it ,maybe he thought it safer to get back on as other horses finishing could have run into him!
its safer to hold your own horse and pull it away from the racing line
and if he did what you say he may have impeded the ones behind

he couldn't have ascertained that & that's why remounting is banned
even holding the horse on the racing line is safer

Tony McCoy remounted and won the race back in the 1990's. Guess that was before the rule change.
I'm not condoning it ,my initial thought was he must not be fully aware of the rules ,he must be he is a pro ffs ,so then I was thinking why did he get back on .

Probably momentarily embarrassed he couldn't avoid falling off. Adrenalin flowing. We are all human. But he should pay a penalty.
he may say he never lost contact with the horse hence why he got back up, even if he says he realised and never asked the horse on the run in they should still give him a holiday

Ruby infamously got nutted on the line after remounting Kauto Star. And Kauto Star was found to be inured after the race. In Exeter.
