1.17 Woolsie could be hard to beat but is plenty short enough with a few things to prove with the drop back in trip after getting tired in the mud over 6F last time out. USS CHARLESTON @ 7/1 is a live alternative as I believe this horse has one of these nurseries in him with a liking for the mud and will be staying on when some have cried enough.

1.47 WESTGATE WARRIOR (2/1) - Sprinter inform who looks very much one for the autumn sprint handicaps. Won well here last time after just failing to hold on at Beverley the time before. 6lbs hike is fair and looks to have been found a opening here to follow up.

2.17 Masked warrior is of interest on debut, but under these conditions the already experienced HELL YEAH HE DID (5/4) who likes soft ground is my pick with Beckett yard in good form and Hector Crouch.

2.47 Ice Max returned to form last time out and is sure to be popular, However PRAGUE (6/1) has its best chance of the season and this is much more its level after contesting group 1 at Ascot last time out which he was duely outclassed in.

3.17 BEACH POINT 4/1 looks to be one to note in this handicap, everything is in place for a big run in this handicap today with the ground to suit and the race set up to suit.

3.47 PERSONAL BEST (7/2) was very unlucky to run into Pique last time out who was primmed for that run, This horse put up a great improved effort and looks to be coming into strike, better off at the weights with dancingwithmyself on goodwood running, I believe the Portman runner will reverse placings this time around.

4.22 ARTAVIAN (13/2) - Don't be surprised if this one bounces back today, a very poor season has seen it drop right the way down the handicap and is now in what looks a horrid closing race to the card. Conditions are back to its favour, easier race then last time, hopefully wont be raced wide this time like on the all weather last time (given no chance). Price is backable to take its chance!!

I don't study much when the ground is like this,
just look for the sloggers

1.17pm Can't see past Woolsie but as you say not a lot of value

1.47pm  Backed 2 in this Edgewater Drive and Yazaman

2.17pm  just flip a coin

2.47pm  Fancy Ebt's Guard to turn over Ice Max

3.47pm  Agree with Personal Best, Rock N Roll Pinkie being the danger

After the first race worried about the draw for WESTGATE  but looked like it wouldn't have troubled the winner from anywhere.
