The good times for them have gone, mainly slots players now but they still make money. The OTC business more than halved after covid, add to that, not replacing the aging horse punters who have gone, the OTC business will never return.
Restrictions in shop isn't a massive issue compared to online and betting terminals are where the growth is, especially sports and football. They need to adapt but it's not over for shops yet. |

I would love to see a tote run by the right people, with the money going to the right places. Bookmakers acting as commission agents, only accepting tote bets on horses. It's the only way out of the hole for horse racing imho

to much education needed for a TOTE system like in France for UK, with markets /maj of money not going on till 5 mins before the off, people thinking their backing a 3,s shot 10 mins before the off ,finding out its won at 5 to 4 wont go down well with the casual punter
