Should he have been trying to get in that gap...was there enough room?
Was he entitled to go for the gap, is the question. Otherwise very similar to yesterday, unbelievably!
didnt nah was an inq..only briefly seen hd on and winner hmp 2nd twice late on..thort betting would be closer tbh.
Seems remarkably close in the betting. Aint seen head-on so had a small trim
I'd say it was a bit worse than yesterday, r/u would likely have won without interference. But very hard to know if the winner will be deemed to have closed the gap to the rail early enough.
I think he was that bit too late going for the gap. But a coin flip.

was a gap from what i seen when they showed it after the susp.
There was a gap, what is virtually impossible to be dogmatic about is whether the r/u got its head in the gap before the winner moved further across. Or the gap had been sufficiently closed off, and the second had lost its opportunity.
would need an overhead/drone shot or reverse footage to be sure

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Rock Etoile, ridden by A. Browne-Souza, placed second, and Blackjack Hills, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed first, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. A. Browne-Souza stated that his mount was coming with a run down the rail and received interference from approximately the furlong pole to the line and felt the gap closed when he was half way up into it. He further stated he felt the interference cost him the race. R.C. Colgan stated that he felt he was well clear of Rock Etoile when going to the rail and felt that there was no room for a horse to come up on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Blackjack Hills had caused interference to Rock Etoile, that he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings. They were, however, of the opinion that R.C. Colgan, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays.
