……., our centuries used, colloquialism, short name for Richard, now on here. It is a joke surely that we cannot print a tribute to Major WR Hern who we knew for decades as xxxx Hern. I know, because I have tried THREE times and had all three retained for moderator “approval”.

Donkeys ago in the early 00's I was sending a CV electronically to some mickey mouse agency and it kept getting KO'd by their mod software. Had to phone them to say I was stumped and it would be in the post.
Took 6 of us to eventually spot that the software had taken umbrage to a word in my covering email. It spat oot the dummie because it didn't like the first 3 letters in the word 'about' taking offence at a derogatory term for indigenous Australians! Edited the email and Robert was indeed your father's brother.
fingers crossed I can say 'kill' and 'dummie' without sanction.
