Top man was Michael amd trained most of my favourite horses from that era, Wayward Lad, Silver Buck, Badsworth Boy and Rathgorman to name a few.

A short but golden period in NH racing.
I loved all of those horses too Mr S, but Wayward Lad was my absolute favourite being such a fine jumper. 28 wins from 55 races but sadly no wins at Cheltenham, that hill was his nemesis. Happily lived out his well deserved retirement at MD's Maryland home. |

my first gold cup day at cheltenham , 1983 ..great memories . wayward lad for me too . though you then start thinking of all the others . the mighty mac , bregawn...i know willie is brilliant and some of his top notchers likewise and of course nostalgia ,etc, but that really was the era that i imagine got so many of us hooked .

Michael Dickinson had a very modest sized stable, 60 odd or something close. It makes his acheivments even more glorious.
