Been gambling over 60 years and never heard this, maybe some or even all of you have but hear does. Two guys in betting shop discussing their bets for the day , one asks , how is your luck ,other guy says pretty bad, I'm hoping to break even today,I could do with the money....

Luck!  Phil Hellmuth once claimed that if it wasn’t for luck he would win every tournament he played in.  Everybody sees it differently.

Overheard at Beverley races 14th August after third race.
Bloke A “Any winners yet?”
Bloke B “Nah , I don’t expect to win-in fact I don’t want to win because if I do , the wife will just take the winnings and spent it”

I heard this in a bookies in the early 80s. 4 old fellas all regulars, meeting up in the bookies for company etc. Just betting small on dogs accas etc.

One says “I’ve not seen Charlie in here for a while, is he OK?”

Another fella replies “Charlie doesnt come in the bookies no more. He still has a bet but he puts his stake money in a jar at home & if he has any winnings he takes them out of the jar but his losing stakes stay in. Then in August he takes himself off to Benidorm for 2 weeks with the money that has built up in the jar.”

Silence followed as the old fellas took that in.

I must admit it made me think as well.
