The horse is no renowned for finding a lot of the bridle. I feel like the problem was that the race had already gone by the time he asked for maximum effort, and when he did, he did find a bit. But no way in the world did it prevent him from beating the winner.

Agreed........my point is that it was never given a chance, regardless of its quirks......but hey ho......we move on.

From the jockey's perspective he probably thinks he's lost as soon as he asks for maximum effort, given the type of horse he is. So giving it the best chance of winning.

Reality is that he needs them coming back to him but today they seemed to be pulling away from him in the straight. So not his type of race.

the horse finds but needs up holding up not far off the pace and amongst horses only a dozen races to watch to prove it ,held up far to far back stranded out wide with no cover is position Z on how to ride this horse
