For a horse and jock who look anything but straightforward this looks plenty short enough. Horrible trip at Goodwood when she never really raced on an even keel and wandered across the track as she had done previously. Plenty of open space to wander into at Doncaster. I wonder if she is quite the full shilling. Pedigree suggests no problem with trip, but for some reason the trainer was talking about it, and she didn't exactly rocket home at Goodwood.
In her favour this looks an ordinary renewal, but I would still prefer to go with Aylin at a 1/4 each-way. I am hoping she found the ground too quick last time. Obviously, the question mark for her would be the distance.
She would be my only bet on what to me looks a horrible punting card.
Nice to see a race preview on here . I didnt think moon looked happy lto , whether it was the ground or didnt act on the track you can take your pick, but to my eye she didn't act on the track based on the fact she normally runs prominently and lto looked uncomfortable for most of the race before staying on in the straight.

I have been cutting back on bets (at the moment it's working) and avoiding being sucked in by the bigger meetings. Also topping things up by betting on other sports like cricket and tennis. It was borderline to get involved at all today. Tomorrow looks similar. How soft it will be is another question.
Going back to Moon Target I don't like the combination of a horse that has a tendency to wander and Morris. His crude style is almost guaranteed not to improve that situation. She has two lengths on Aylin, and the market suggests on a straight track and over an extra furlong she will increase that margin. She might, but at the price I would rather not take the risk to find out.
Ideal result for the bookmakers would be getting the favourite beat and keeping Aylin out of the three. That would set them up very nicely.

I agree with Foyles, it looks a decent betting card. The first race winner wasn't too hard to find and I'm very sweet on one later on the card. As for Moon Target, I think she still looked a little green at Goodwood and seeing as it was the first time she'd had a proper race, she might actually come on a bit for it. At the prices I won't back or lay but you'd be a touch disappointed if she couldn't win this one

I think we are nearly all in agreement. I wouldn't be laying it either, nor would I back it to win. Too many improvers in the field for my liking to risk a win bet and much too likely the winner to warrant a lay, imo.
The only angle in I can see is a possible place back if the odds are generous enough.
Im down south and the heavens have opened and its biblical outside, id be interested to see what the going is like up norff
Good luck.

Nor me. Sir Mark was clearly disappointed with her last run so we have to assume she does have above average ability. She’s a watch for me. Hope she runs well.

I've whacked her in a win treble...I'd rather be a backer than a layer but there is enough evidence to remove confidence. I hope she wins and wins well.

I have no problems putting up nearer the race , as I said it looks a good betting card with some decently priced pokes weather they win or not is another matter .

Just as an interesting point as this is most unusually a horse related thread. I noticed Hughes horse in this race won a race in france for unraced 2yos worth £60k to the winner . Well that really does put our prize money to shame ....

Had a little luck with the bets as the first bet I placed was a win bet as I mistakenly thought I had clicked the each-way. Then I did what I had intended in the first place.

WD dd. It was a no bet day for me but my fancy was 3/1 earlier and drifted to double figures on here, so I've backed Encircle 3.35 Chelms W/p. She was beaten an average of 22 lengths in 5 races prior to her debut run for Butler, in which she was beat 1 1/2 l. She wasn't unbacked then and ran a little better than the result, switched from rail to wide and finished well. I'm a sucker for a drifter though.

Saddo, I never watched the rac but looks like you had hard luck.
Lost many lengths start, in rear, headway when waiting for room over 1f out, soon switched left and ridden, kept on inside final 110yds, nearest finish (op 8/1)
