reported sore to the stewards, not ridden since Deauville last Sunday.

I noticed the style of the winning jockey was very different to Moore. Just a sickie I hope.

fractured femur

That's bad news with so many Gp1 races in the vicinity. It's always very painful, I gather. An enforced holiday is a great opportunity to relax and recharge one's battery.
By:
The only consolation is if that was to happen to a racehorse the animal may be put down. With Moore is merely a downtime for recuperation.

Soumi to ride those at Longchamp presumably

imbecile123 you are in serious danger of being sued. |

It scuppers their, “who’s Ryan gonna ride game?”

To describe implausible as an obsessed cretin would be charitable in the extreme

Buick has been used by them in the past, no Godolphin colt in the Leger so may get the call, Keane might have to ride for Balding if Tarriance goes.
It would be funny if Murphy got the call up after his and Moore’s thing in the stewards room, imagine Moore’s face having to see him win on one of his! ![]() |
By:
And if his leg gets put in plaster send Chapman to interview him on how it occurred and a general chit chat!

Could Frankie get the call up in the Leger all these years after landing it on Scorpion?

And do a flying dismount straight into the arms of the taxman..

Ballydoyle understudys could be worth following this week if there are any - should be riding for everything with all these new opportunities coming

They surely won’t be putting their faith in them now Frogger. What did you think of the race in France last night with the Grand Prix Du Paris 3rd?
By:
I didn't see it Delashay and don't know will have a look. O'Brien puts multiple horses in races on that irish weekend and they'll be trying hard to be picked i should hope

By:
It’s added some spice to the end of the season.

Very hard to explain how the quality of Doctors that Moore and Coolmore could employ could miss a broken leg for months! An Xray and MRI scan are the first things you would do surely?
By:
a few years ago didn't Ryan have a busted collar bone or similar and used a cryo chamber @ minus ridiculous temperature which helps speed up the recovery and healing process. I'm sure they had a piece on atr at the time.
Would expect him to be back by Arc weekend |
By:
That was McCoy's strategy.

Someone on here wrote some time ago that they thought that Moore was riding with an injury. Good spot to @whoever it was?
By:
Is it feasible they knew about it, and thought they could 'control it' maybe it was just miniscule cracks (whatever the medical phrasing is?)... and hold out til November or December for a 2 or 3 month break? As Sageform points out, difficult to believe that Moore and Coolmoore didn't seek some sort of medical advice about it, and that thorough checks made. Not meant as a sh** stirring comment in any way, top jockeys have a certain mentality wrt pain and healing.
By:
Delashay, for sure that wasn't the usual 'all action' Moore on the day when Amo beat them in the group 1. Of course impossible to tell how much of a difference it made, but he was accepting defeat more easily than usual.

Hairline fractures are extremely painful
By:
Professional sportsmen are usually carrying some sort of niggle or injury. Especially as they get older. At some point it crosses a threshold and it's not feasible to carry on. Would have been known that he was struggling and most likely on cortisone or whatever but they wouldn't have known it was fractured.
By:
Until the scan revealed a fracture femur (a Racing Post journo has reported a broken leg today) connections had not realised it. They thought it was something Moore had aggravated when out jogging to keep fit.
I wish Moore a speedy recovery and free from any sharp and persistent pain. |
By:
AOB said it was a grade 4 fracture (the 'worst'), and at risk of breaking. Moore isn't a potential stallion so no reason not to believe that.
By:
If AOB told me it was Sunday today I would check the Calendar

A few are been giving very easy rides the last couple of weeks. Whistlejacket should be winning though. As an aside I think Moore is riding with an injury. Even on his winners the last week he doesn't look comfortable pushing them out. He's been far too quick to stop riding on his losers imop. Even on Guarded earlier he looked very uncomfortable in the saddle. |
By:
My guess they knew something was wrong but just kicked the can down the road, according to APOB one of his horses whipped around at the start in France recently and Moore jumped off and landed hard on his feet which probably aggravated it.

MJK seems very clued up on the Irish racing...

I think some eyes will be on Soumillon on Delacroix tomorrow. I think he received a bit of negative press for his ride on Minnie Hauk in The Arc.
