I think it's the latter, beaten hotpots are so commonplace it's not the big news it once was.

Went past Perry Barr dog track on Saturday night, last night before closure, campaigners outside gleeful that this wicked sports track was closing. Doubt there'll be many Greyhounds bred in future as all the tracks close.

I am inclined to agree with slippy i remember when I used to back heavy upto 15 years ago and I would back an odds on with the thoughts of them losing being minimal , move forward to now and I am half expecting the majority of them to lose or being made to work for the win at least, pity about the greyhound industry for sure stew

i had a look at its form and its previous race, on video, looked a bit of a dog, and im doing okay at the moment....so i thought id chuck away a few quid and see what would happen.

i then laid the loughane horse at ripon for quite a bit, it was double figures i think in running and then won....haha....i wasnt laughing at the time.

12s on shot beat. What percentage of odds on shot getting beat these days compared to previous years?  Seems to be more getting chinned at short odds these days

before today's racing
UK & ire only

odds on shots 877/1469 in 2025
0.2% loss to BSP before comm

since 2012 16288/27376
0.6% loss to BSP before comm

so not much difference
