Says he has a viral infection and been prescribed antibiotics, either he misunderstood or his Doctor is a quack? Just curious about the actual reason for him being stood down for the rest of York and missing a couple of decent chances, any new news or views?

Doyle wrote on X: "I felt unwell during racing on Wednesday, underwent tests on Thursday and have been diagnosed with a viral infection

"I have been prescribed antibiotics and have been advised to rest for a few days.

"It’s hugely disappointing to be missing important rides, but I wish the team well and look forward to being back in action shortly."

Appears extremely straightforward to me maybe molerat would be able to advise you on the difficulty of riding a racehorse whilst not feeling 100%

Jacko you are not the sharpest knife in the box but most know that antibiotics are not used for viral infections hence the Q marks!!

My children have suffered a lot of so called viral infections which is the term they usually use when they don't have a clue what the actual infection is and they have been prescribed antibiotics numerous times thankfully I didn't have to use Google this time

Peculiar from Doyle's doctor, I thought this over prescribing of antibiotics for viral infections was at the least strongly discouraged long ago. It's the cause of antibiotic resistance we're seeing now.  I did wonder if he caught Covid.

One of my thoughts Smokey but then you would assume some sort of testing for his colleagues? Possible it is a bacterial infection and he misunderstood or maybe he has both which would be the only time antibiotics would be prescribed and viral infection mooted.

I was just curious as was keeping an eye on his mounts and the changes surprised me, I initially thought he had been injured.

Still under the weather going by his first ride, he has turned into a poor mans Jamie Spencer.
