Your hard to please Howard
Cracking sprint to start with with lots of old favourites and some relatively unexposed ones An acomb where all 7 have previously won A great voltiguer with a dual derby winner plus a royal Ascot winner The judmonte prince of wales winner eclipse winner and Japanese derby winner (we can’t have frankels every year ) Fillies sprint the horse of the year so far Two competitive handicaps also Good luck Howard not an say card but a very good one |
By:
Say = easy

Good to see a positive racing post jimnast, nearly everything has become a negativity and doom and gloom.
It's a cracking few days racing, good luck with your punts. |
By:
Thanks the dealer I just think the ebor meeting and royal Ascot has something for everyone some races can just be enjoyed without a bet.
Good luck to you also |
By:
best thing about the opening sprint is by not having a bet you can work out if its worth having a bet in later 2 sprints on card or will it be like latest York meeting,s where 60% of the field are drawn out of it
By:
I get that everyone is different, I can go racing and not have a bet, I love watching it, seeing the winners come in, the parade ring before a race. One thing we don't lack every day is variety and volume of racing every day,
And there you go ![]() |
By:
Our trainer is a nervous wreck already as she goes in tomorrow with 2 live chances in the sprints. Try telling her, the owners, the girls in the yard, that those 2 sprint handicaps mean nothing and shouldn't be there.
By:
A good point first time poster however I’m not capable of not having a bet in these big field sprint handicaps,no problem just watching many races but not these.
By:
Which trainer the dealer no problem if you would sooner not post on here.
By:
Katie Scott, all fingers and toes crossed tomorrow, for good runs and home safe and sound
By:
Magic for a yard her size to have a couple go there with a chance
By:
The horse I referred to as the horse of the year so far
Excellent trainer |
By:
Yes it can be the magnificent 7 for Luna tomorrow. What a but at £1000.
She is so honest and just really down to earth, a great wee yard to be involved in. |

the dealer. 19 Aug 25. 14:14. Same here.
By:
Brilliant to hear that , micheal Herrington who also has a runner in the fillies sprint fits the description of Katie he just wants to train winners an incredibly hard working man.
By:
these older horse sprints seem to be at a crossover point, where established horses on downgrade and younger horses as of yet not quite what you,d call York sprint type regular,s,tomorrow's race falls in to that bracket for me,the Quinn sprinter would normally be in but going up to group level as quick as he arrived on the sprint scene
By:
Yes a very fair point about tomorrow’s race 1st time poster falling into that bracket,a puzzle I will enjoy attempting to solve.
By:
A pathetic turnout for the Group races, and the prices are pants too. That's the problem with a quasi-monopoly exhibited by Coolmore and AOB.
By:
Without the Obrien rnrs, the Yorkshire Oaks would be a match & quite possibly
a walkover. |
By:
I really have to have a bet jimnast to justify £200+ travel & entry. Put a line through nearly all age 4+ h'caps and any sprint h'caps. Needed better big races wed. Don't see any betting angle.
By:
I'm sure there will be more runners if AOB does not have a runner in the race.
By:
Why are you sure?
By:
Is it common for a Derby winner (let alone a dual Derby winner) to run here? Have there been many (any) esp from AOB?
By:
Read the thread.
By:
He scored off Merchant didn’t he?
By:
*scared - so we don’t get to test that formline.
Something to be said about Lambourn going left handed hey honcho |
By:
I'd back Pride Of Arras, but he ran a stinker in Ireland. I think he'd be another Ambiente Friendly but without being a runner-up in The Derby.
Lambourn ought not to be running here esp if Scandinavia is Leger bound. This is usually a prep for the Leger; his participation has spoiled the betting market. |

TREFOR
VANTHEMAN KENDALL ROY will be my 3 against the field, and on Fri SHE,S QUALITY in nunthorpe not cost me as I've been to all her funerals all season EW,be waiting for extra places ew again, but she,s my top bet this week,as long as draw looks ok,it might be THE WEDDING DAY |

“Ought not to be running here”, “Spoiled the betting market”?
