Puro Magic with Chistophe Lemaire set for redemption in G3 Ibis Summer Dash
Puro Magic appears ready to bounce back ahead of the G3 Ibis Summer Dash. The talented filly worked over the woodchip track at Ritto Training Center, paired alongside Omega Navigator. Positioned just behind her workmate, she maintained composure and focus, avoiding overexcitement. She displayed a sharp turn of foot in the final furlong, clocking 11.2 seconds to edge ahead by a head, exactly as the team had planned, cool, calm, and collected throughout.
Her last outing was her first overseas test, in the Al Quoz Sprint. While she finished fifth, the experience proved invaluable. The plan was to hold her back deliberately from the start and teach her to settle, laying the groundwork for future races. "We asked Oisin Murphy not to let her jump too fast and to settle her behind horses. He executed that strategy perfectly," Yasuda noted. The goal was to give her a feel for unleashing her late speed against top competition.
Now returning to a straight-course sprint, Puro Magic will be partnered with Christophe Lemaire. "I'd like him to teach her to stay patient behind and then unleash her run toward the finish," said Yasuda, placing high expectations on the veteran rider.

On July 3 at Niigata Racecourse, the 25th running of the G3 Ibis Summer Dash saw second favourite Puro Magic, under Christophe Lemaire, surge through the inside from a mid-pack position to seize the lead and narrowly hold off the outside challenge of race favourite T M Spada by a neck. The winning time was 53.7 seconds.
Finishing a further half-length behind in third was longshot Win Greatest, sent off at odds of 10th favourite.
The winner, Puro Magic, is a 4-year-old filly by Asia Express out of Medjerda, whose sire is Deep Impact. She had previously finished a strong fifth in her overseas debut in the Al Quoz Sprint in Dubai. Returning to Japan for this race, she showcased her class once again and captured her third career graded stakes victory

Permission was given for MIAKODA (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
The performance of DANNICK which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered. Tom
Queally reported that the gelding hung right-handed. Gary Moore further reported that DANNICK was
unsuited by the going described as Good to firm, Good in places, on this occasion and may be suited by a
slower surface. The Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race and had nothing to report.

Moore has the favourite in the 4.10. Problem for punters is he has another in the race.

Voodoo Ray in the last, 5 time course winner. 11 runs since a win and dropped a stone in the weights. Only beaten 3 horses in it's last 5 races finishing last in 4 of them.

I must agree re Queally.....I cannot think of many worse jocks than him. Sometimes his "pretendee shove" is verging on a joke, and as for the looking down and all around! How he has never been fully binned off amazes me.

Its comical vets found nothing wrong but queally must looked down seven times in race , gary moore is as much complicit in the cheating
They have all the tricks look how yarnorough his fav was brought up inside, a place where u can't win at Brighton, reggie clay have more integrity than gary , greed and cheating is an awful ailment

Remember one day maybe 4 or 5 yrs ago gary was asked on a camera bout his horse that was gambled on at Brighton from 14 into 4 and he said it was no good and didn't understand the money , the horse won hard held , these fukers can't help putting people away , I fully believe the day goshen fell at last in triunp hurdle was karma for them

Queally generally loves riding up inside at Brighton, u know u haven't prayer when he bringing one up the inside, they can make it legite even use whip a bit too knowing horse has no chance

The rider stated his instructions were to line up handy and take up a prominent position on the inside rail.
He felt his mount jumped and travelled well throughout the early stages of the race, but having been off the
track since April, the gelding became tired in the home straight and he felt it prudent to allow his mount to
finish the race under a hands and heels ride. His explanation was noted.
