Is it my eyes, or is it really dark - looks like late evening??

Can't remember which course it was yesterday, but clearly the 'finish' camera was some 10 yds off the finish line, and therefore impossible to tell in close finishes and photos who had won. Is their any feasible excuse for such ineffective positioning of cameras by the TV team?
