Been twice when I lived in Plzen - train direct from Prague to Pardubice (there's a few to choose from - but recommend you go early) and about 20-30 minutes walk to track, if you can avoid all the pubs (hospoda) on the way!! Big crowd but quite spacious so never feels too packed. A spectacle for sure but how the jockeys know where to go is amazing because they go past the stands about 4 times in different directions.

Best to stay in Prague, a great city worth a few days exploration. Take the 8am train and get there in good time.

A festival atmosphere at the track and loads of stalls offering everything including some decent food and drink.

I'd be tempted to get away promptly afterwards to get the train back to Prague if you want to make a decent evening of it.

Yes, been twice. If there's a group of you the train prices get cheaper if you book together(although its not expensive) Good atmosphere at the track and also watched a game of football on the same weekend both times. Good jollies tbh.
