hadn't realised it paid 3 places, guessing that's the world pool influence, in that case 1.01 was a great return...not! if anyone needed the evidence to steer clear that race was it.

I guess the reason could be because of the SP guarantee, it would've probably paid 60 or something like that, they covered the payout by shafting the place punters.... or a poor man in Hong Kong stuck 1/2mill on to place expecting to get around evens and got paid out 5k profit!

They flower the market, rather than seed it,which is fine if there objective is to stabilise returns and match sp,but if it’s to game the system then that’s not cricket.

Stopped using the Tote, the old Dual forcast which was the first two any order and it reg used to pay double and sometimes x5 the csf now the exacta first two correct order reg pays less than the csf, it's a total joke. The PP is a shell of the bet it once was due to dubious goings on. Yet no one in the media is interested, even on course, the screens are full of total claptrap predicted returns, for me it's no more toat, am csf now, much safer way to roll. As for the PP, nop, better doing trebles, fours and an e/w acca, PP is a very bad invest now. Imvho.

Incredible return... Has it mentioned in the RP? I'm guessing not
BandB... As for the Placepot being a bad bet these days, I would agree that with the 28% takeout plus this secretive seeding stuff, it can be very poor However, I still play every day, have done for 40 plus years, and there are still certain make ups of races that lean towards decent returns in the ppot

there's a scandal here surely, these returns are being manipulated somehow. Must only be pennies going on a 300/1 shot to place in a G2 with only 2 places, rated 80 and obvious pace making duties. Not even an interesting name for those casuals using a pin.

But the highest proportion of the pool should have been going on the jolly, therefore adding to the pay out on the winners. It would be a bit more understandable if the jolly was the other placer.
The parallel with the Sussex is that the long odds on jolly failed to place. Counter-intuitive to everything we know about betting/pool betting. Pay outs should be better if the long odds on jolly is out of the money.

The take out is 20% 25% in Ireland. These figures are much higher than when Betfr*d ran the show.
9 runner race all with an equal chance------each place chance is 3.0 but the tote will pay 2.4 on average (2.25 in Ireland)
7/5 0r 5/4 on a 2/1 chance.

Looks very similar, so are they artificially increasing the dividend on the jolly in favour of the other runners hence the poor returns when its out the frame?

Unbelievable really, get a 300-1 shot (true win price 1000+) to place AND the long odds on jolly beaten, and your pick up is just over 20 quid. It's not a vastly interesting topic to report on but someone with the right profile should.

Hello Humphrey 200/1 rag was around 100 to place on here, Tote place return £11
Actually ran a great race, pushed wide then hampered by the winner as well. The jolly did place this time, paying £1.10.
