interesting ride on Jonquil.
Off the pace in 7th, moderate headway in 5th when hung right from over 1f out, never involved beaten a head in the Group 1 Poule d'Essai des Poulains at Longchamp in May. can't even get "involved" in todays Group 2 ?? |

I think Jonquil needs a good rest. I think Jonquil needs time between races similar to Ambiente Friendly, Pride Of Aras, US Army Ranger, etc. Some horses are hardy, some a bit more fragile.

Qirat had form with yesterday's Lennox winner. Handicap form wins out again. We had the Group 1 sprinter out of handicaps winning at Royal Ascot. It's more commomplace in sprints now it seems any distance is fair game.
I have backed Qirat in several handicaps, including when beaten by fractions, but he always looked as if he barely stayed a mile. |

Witness Stand was 2nd to Qirat hcap here last year giving him 13lb.
