The Wiki page only seems to go back to the 70s so you have Lanzarote and Bula from that decade but not Buona Notte and Dunkirk,who were on a similar level. There is another from the 60s. The Champion Hurdler,Anzio,who was probably past his peak as a hurdler but died novice chasing I think.

I can remember a fair bit of the 70's. Golden Cygnet was the very obvious one. In a great era he had the potential to be anything. At a different level, but Grey Sombrero was only nine when he was lost. The previous year he had won a terrific renewal of the Whitbread. Dondieu, another notable loss.
