Awful prize money for a Listed. Killavia won £3228 for third. Less than almost any Class 5 maiden but I suppose they will be happy with black type. The win prize is less than quite a few of the valuable maidens around these days.

"Grand Dam never won"  WALOFS        Somethingroyal, who raced only once, finishing unplaced.

Somethingroyal was named the 1973 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year when at age 18 she became the oldest mare to foal an American Triple Crown winner, Secretariat. She had already established herself as a "blue hen", having produced several stakes-winning and stakes-placed horses.

even if a dam's sequence of wins in time  counted for something ( it doesn't ) other factors in racing/betting would count for 99% of any analysis but try tell that to autistic savants

Blue Hen” Mare: A mare which is a prolific producer of quality offspring. In addition, her sons and/or daughters also have a significant impact on the breed; i.e., Grey Flight, *La Troienne.

howard, you seem not to have any interest in pedigrees or breeding of horses. Some of us do but not many on here as the Breeding Forum tells us. Not every single member of Betfair Forum is there to get free tips or to criticise others. I have followed thoroughbred breeders for 65 years and never tire of watching how they go about it. Jeff Smith is a shining example and works on a scale where you can remember most of his horses. Lochsong was an early success then Persian Punch, Norse Dancer, Alcohol Free and last week Spirit Mixer winning the Northumberland Plate. Much more interesting than working out the winner of a class 5 handicap for me but each to their own.

No.  But there may be something in your link. I hope I am not quite as prolific at flogging dead horses.

If you have knowledge that would educate the poster then why not post it. I can't say that a mare that didn't win would put me off from its progeny so long as plenty of close relatives have been successful.

She had the priceless credential of having finished fifth in the Queen Mary. Whitsbury Manor are very good long standing breeders though.

The position of running this tread is vacant.  I'm sure Howard would be willing to take over and show members his knowledge of Pedigree

if u have a lifetime profit on betfair ( me ) you know where to look....and know who not to listen to.   Someone such as Dixi ( 100k in 6 months ) even Rico takes his hat off.
