I was trying to manually datacrunch a factoid regarding a bet from probably early 1990s. I will get there in the end.
Convinced was a Cecil Horse owned by Sheikh Mo (his own colours) and won (poss on debut) at Newcastle in a 5 down to 4 runner race. Went off 2nd fav. and won. Joy was 5 runners and something goes lame on the way to post and nearly all units now going onto the 1/3 fav. I have a £10 straight line pot on the Cecil horse and am certifiably depressed as I had counted a worst case of a £60 pot x 10.
Joy of Joy Cecil's wins and I actually have £7,500 back. Initial excitement tempered when I realise bet is on in an independent in next town and shop has a limit of £5,000. Still philosophical in that I am actually up £4,400.
