.....We were spoiled years ago with very different and distinct jockeys.........Frankie...Fallon...Eddery...Carson...Lester.....all very individual characters. .....Today's just seem like bland robots to me.
Not sure i remember too much difference between an Eddery mumbling through interviews vs Ryan Moore tbh , bit of rose coloured nostalgia can easily kick in when comparing today with the perceived " good old days " which unfortunately has become human nature.
I'm more than happy with things as they are as i don't really believe a perceived lack of jockey character has or ever will cost me any money.
Comparing the blanket coverage of choice , access to everything required to give us every chance and two designated racing channels leaves the days of waiting for teletext results and hardly any live racing without wandering off to toboggan racing from China before the SP is known stone cold.
We've never had it so good in my view , unless someone loves a good moan of course.
Good luck today Rich , it's all about opinions

Hayden...I get ya....not really on about interviews....more about ...in a 20 runner race etc, you could pick out one of the jockeys I mentioned quite easily.....now, I wouldn't know any of them if they were in the same pub as me !
Good luck to you also .....I'm doing very nicely so far this week, with the fancied type of runners I prefer to back.

...Yep...in the 90s , I owned quite a number of racehorses in partnership with a friend ,( no longer with us )....and Frankie, when he was very young...Fallon, and Eddery all rode for the two of us on occassions. Funny thing was, I was actually "starstruck" by meeting them every time .....big characters...instantly recognizable ...........although apart from Frankie, not exactly chatty...lol
