I was really impressed.

Backed Ruling Court because I thought its chance probably wasn't far behind the fav but - in hindsight - we now all know what Gosden knew after the Guineas and what we all should have seen in the Irish 2000Gns: FOG would never finish behind RC over a mile again. Or anything else on this side of the world.

When the jockey effortlessly quickened between two horses on the home turn and put the race to bed before the furlong pole it betrayed the kind of confidence connections had in Frankel.

'Trident', same here. The knockback on betting by bookies, and the non-running hotpots eg Kyprios and Lake Victoria have taken the buzz and enthusiasm this year. Also, apart from Treanmor (5/4) in The Chesham on saturday there's no outstanding horse imo
