Red letter day today. I know he's knocking on a bit, but he remains one of the world's top jocks. I look at Wathnan who clearly have big aspirations, and they rely on James Doyle, also knocking on, but has never been a top jock, and never will be.

The jock who rode the third today Clement L is being given some good rides by Graffard and entrusted. He’s one for the future on this.
Big ride in the Gold Cup another example of their reward for his hard work.

Soumi doesn’t ride Newmarket well and hasn’t had a winner I don’t believe at Ascot in ages. But then again the French at best have had only around one winner at the Royal meeting.

Had places with that but not a great record.

He went soooo close on City Light (that bloke Moore again!) and won last on Evedya from memory.

I mentioned it on the other thread (French racing) by Fowles

That I thought it odd about Keene getting the Juddmonte job, he has a lot of tracks to learn. I believe in having the best local jockey.

Soumi spoke of where he wanted to be today, whilst the Fav and 3rd were trapped wider than usual.

I’ve been called judgemental, I assume from comments about Murphy. You know who you are.

The point I tried to make is that he was dumb to mess up getting the Juddmonte gig because of personal issues and actions. He was surely in line and had more experience of riding in France than Keene.
That seems a step back knocking out Pouchain and maybe they will re think it?
It has nothing to do with his ride today on better together.

Delashay, you've missed a few out there, one of the best ever Gold Cup winners won the Gold Cup 3 times Wink

Andrew do you remember when Treve was at Ascot? I’ll never forget her groom El Capitaun! Laugh For me she was the best Arc winner, went round Longchamps like a scale electric! Love

Yes i do remember Treve, not only at Ascot but at Longchamp, my favourite racecourse.

My favourite Arc winner is Zarkava, probably also my fav filly, an incredible turn of foot. Watch her Prix Vermeille win on You Tube.

I’ve not visited Longchamp yet, thanks for the recommendation Happy

Go to a non-Arc weekend, incredible value, 20 euro entry, sit where you want, no large crowds or queues for food, drink and betting. I go often, and a few  posters off here i go racing with in UK also come over for Arc weekend.
