Maybe the whole declaration system/time scale needs an overhaul. Consider the US system of alternates assigned to a specific going range, it's crazy for such races to cut up so badly.

To be fair they watered earlier in the week and rain was confidently forecast overnight. Dover is under water! It does ruin what could have been a decent card though.

I also find it odd that there were such good fields yesterday. Surely it has not dried that much?
