I think any Channel crossers should be housed in a boat offshore. Do not let them set foot on UK soil unless they are children and unwell. Given the present predicament I think it's prudent to think about constructing prison-like boats and anchoring them in open-waters just off UK shores. If this is still inadequate a "Rwanda" like agreement with several African states ought to be seriously pursued.
The UK is already an island of foreigners; each foreigner has a set of ideas not always UK orientated or UK conducive eg speaking their own lingo in public; unable to be understood in public/at work eg supermarket or in public; chooses not to integrate into UK life/society eg living among themselves in clusters; only preoccupied with their own lives/aims/cultures/traditions. Cohesion in social welfare and society is absolutely vital and necessary for a harmonious and productive country. |
|
By:
Good idea, buy an old cruise liner, anchor it half a mile of shore, put the migrants in it and when it is full sail them back to France.
|
|

Containment is all about deterrents. A visual one has always been more effective, and instant. A large majority of Channel crossers are economic migrants, not political. As such, extinguish this perceived "hope/desire" altogether.
The Channel crossers will be treated as illegals or prisoners until their applications are successful. Any blatant abusers could be imprisoned in boats with specially designed cages until repatriations eg to Rwanda/etc, or home country on agreement; food and welfare will be provided accordingly; the children's education will be confined within the boat until Uni. I think UK PLc needs to be cruel to be kind; false hope is not an alternative. |

'stop the boats' hasn't exactly worked, if you sink a couple that would be the cheapest deterrent.

simple. no asylum seekers. not that that is what they are. they are illegal immigrants and the asylum system was set up for good reason to help those driven out of their countries. its not fit for now
are we to suppose a u.n. act from post-ww2 was perfect and requires no revision? dont fink so almost every one is fleeing persecution states that have one thing in common and we all know what it is but nobody will ask the question. how are asylum claims from albania ever agreed? or pakistan or... any of em. they are fleeing people like them. and why are they all male? could it have anything to do with the subjugation of wimmin where they originate? impossible. to contemplate |

If one sinks a boat a rescue mission has to be activated. And, the recrimination worldwide for any loss of lives will be unrelented and justified. However, intercepting the dinghies in British water and transporting the Channel crossers to specialised vessels until their application is processed within a fixed statutory timeline. No appeal is allowed.
Post this the failed asylum seeker could be sent home with their agreement or a 3rd country contracted legally to accepting them. Illegal Channel crossers have no right to enter the UK without the correct documentation. |

Enoch Powell on 20 April 1968
"It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre. So insane are we that we actually permit unmarried persons to immigrate for the purpose of founding a family with spouses and fiancées whom they have never seen" Also within the same speech some 57 years ago, very relevant in light of the recent LA violence "As I look ahead, I am filled with foreboding. Like the Roman, I seem to see "the River Tiber foaming with much blood". That tragic and intractable phenomenon which we watch with horror on the other side of the Atlantic but which there is interwoven with the history and existence of the States itself, is coming upon us here by our own volition and our own neglect. Indeed, it has all but come. In numerical terms, it will be of American proportions long before the end of the century. Only resolute and urgent action will avert it even now. Whether there will be the public will to demand and obtain that action, I do not know. All I know is that to see, and not to speak, would be the great betrayal" Hindsight eh.....too late now I fear. |

If we got rid somehow of the reported 43,000 illegal/boat immigrants from our hotels we could accommodate our criminals in these hotels and thus wholly reduce the pressures and strains which pervade our prison system. The numbers are about the same.
Ridiculous? Not at all more ridiculous than us financing all of these non-UK citizens in deference to our own. |

Let them all in,send them to Morden in Surrey and if they meet impossible they will return and stop anyone from crossing in future for what they have already suffered wouldn't come close to listening to him

I can still remember in the early 80's housing gave priority to the young (unmarried) single mum eg have a child to get on the emergency housing ladder. Now, the locals are not prioritised but the Channel crossers eg in emergency accommodation eg hotels; hotels owners (used to be care home owners) are making a killing. The size of the immigrant families is also a significant factor for an upgrade to bigger dwellings eg rewarding bigger immigrant families.
The above may come across as racism and bias discrimination but it's very true; the bigger the family, the more likely to be upgraded to a bigger dwelling. A close friend of a very good friend of mine (I'm only an acquaintance) whose family suffered a loss in the Grenfell disaster was "given/accorded" a house (not flat) in Chelsea by the council as compensation for the council's inept handling prior to and post the disaster. I do not know for sure whether the house is a permanent gift or not. But, this is absolutely true. |
|
By:
I'm sure they wouldn't give impossible the time of day, as they don't to any natives. I had friends in Morden who inevitably were forced out once it became the UK equivalent of Islamabad.

They could stop this at a stroke by reintroducing conscription to our depleted army for anyone under 35 who comes into this country illegally for 5 years. They would not have access to live ammunition of course until under combat.
Most new "british" people interviewed recently said they would not fight for this country in a war and would go back "home." |
