AOB also has 4 entered, but the French have a different declaration system to us, forfeit stage 2 at 11.30 local time today, another tomorrow and finals on Thursday. I suspect the field will be reduced from the current 18, although i'm not suggesting FG will have less. He has a couple of decent filles in Mandanaba and Audubon Park. Basher Watts filly She's Perfect is top rated on 112.

15 entries remain, AOB still has 4, FG down to 3 with Audubon Park taken out.

Difficult to know if SP will stay the Diane trip that's an extended 10.4f. Out of a Galileo mare, but sprinter sire. Her half-brother won over 12f, ended up over hurdles, but all others were basically sprinters and only one ever raced beyond a mile. Different track and draw will be a factor. She's had the run of the race on two previous occasions over there and may not get such an easy lead this time.

Thanks for the look at pedigree, she seemed to be at her end in the 1000 but Fellows feels that she was outstaying Mandaba.

Really surprised at Aubudon being scratched, even if she was flat last time, but Soumi said there were reasons.

Falikah ?

I was at Longchamp for the Guineas meeting, Audubon Park ran on the same card earlier than the classics. Came to win her race, but didn't find a lot and was simply outstayed by the winner Gezora who was going away at the finish. She runs in the Diane.

If i had to select one today it would be Mandaba who will be ridden by MB, but i doubt i will play (i'm not going).
Report Delashay • June 10, 2025 11:52 AM BST
Thanks for the feedback, did feel Mandaba was a better looking individual or were you impressed that she could drop back in trip and run so well in the Guineas?

I read this only last night :

The Prix de Diane will be held next Sunday. Who will you be associated with?

I’m going to ride Audubon Park, which is coached by Francis-Henri Graffard. I see him as a very good chance. Winning, I don’t know too much, because the race will be quite open and there are two or three fillies who stand close. The places on the rope will also be important. Recently, in the Prix Saint-Alary (Gr. II), I felt it lacked competition because it had not run since its success in March in Saint-Cloud. She will be much better on Sunday. I was impressed by her at the beginning and in Saint-Cloud. I’m glad to be associated with him on Sunday.

I'm tempted with Bedtime Story for the Prix de Diane. But, will she turn up? She's one of several of AOB's charges repeatedly missing big engagements. 6/1 is too much of a risk for a possible no-show.

I like Pride of Aras for the Irish Derby. His trainer is keen, but no decision yet. He's 10/1 with some bookies.
Report Delashay • June 11, 2025 11:21 AM BST

Report Delashay • June 11, 2025 11:40 AM BST
She’s a non runner Impossible withdrawn yesterday and is being aimed now at Ascot I believe from what was said on ATR yesterday.

Burrows was said to have said that the Diane comes too soon! But they’ll look at the Coronation which she needs to be supp’d for.

It’s why I said the defection of Victoria Lake changed things for both races.

Can only pass on what I heard no mis - info, nothing to gain for my part.

Cheers 'Delashay'. I do not think she'll be sufficiently effective in the Coronation Stakes. Is there a 10f race at Royal Ascot for fillies? I'm less enthusiastic for this Royal Ascot than last. Maybe it's betting induced as I've very little running on to any of the races eg Kyprios and Lake Victoria being absentees.

Colin Keane will take his first Group 1 ride in the Juddmonte silks since being appointed as retained rider in Sunday's Prix de Diane Longines, after Better Together featured among 12 fillies declared for the Chantilly Classic.

"Colin will sit on her in the parade ring and he'll figure her out going down to the start," said Mahon. "Obviously a Classic is a big day to start off, but he's well capable and he's done it before so we'll leave it to him and see how he gets on.
"He'll go over to France on the bigger days and he'll be there on Sunday for the filly, while he'll also ride Latakia in the Listed Prix Pawneese."

Strange Juddmonte didn’t have this one rider for all in order before the Field Of Gold debacle, Pouchin is without a ride now in the Diane.

Asked about the opposition, our interlocutor replied: “Shes Perfect is a good filly, but I don’t know if she will hold 2,000 meters. It is she who has the highest rating. She beat Mandanaba, which means that if we only consider the line, ours has a length to find. Gezora won well last time, she is a manageable filly, a sure bet.

Clerk of course on the ground and outlook

In the discipline of the Flat, the state of the ground is a fundamental parameter for athletes (and socio-professionals) who, in fact, will articulate their games and their selections in relation to the conditions of the day... Director of the racecourse of Chantilly (60) and the training center, Marin Le Cour Grandmaison gave us the latest news: « In view of the weather (dry, hot and sunny weather in the Chantilly region on Wednesday), we watered the track last night, which brought us to a penetrometer at 3.7, or a soft ground, this Thursday morning, our interlocutor learned. Météo-France announces two beautiful days, Thursday and Friday with quite high temperatures (31°C Thursday, and 29°C Friday), with sun and wind. To date, we have not planned a watering, neither this evening nor Friday morning, and depending on the penetrometer we will have on Friday evening, and depending on the weather, we may proceed (or not) with a final watering. The objective is as follows: to tend towards a good/soft ground for the meeting on Sunday (15 June). I add that there are threats of storms on the night from Friday evening to Saturday, so depending on this, we will trigger, or not, the watering”.

There’s no thread on the main page for the Prix Diane today, which they say is an open race.
It certainly looks fascinating with so many kris crossing form lines.

General consensus is that She’s Perfect won’t stay but Mandanaba will. fellows pointed out that his filly outstayed Zara’s filly in the guineas.
To the eye you’d have to say that she did. Pedigree gives them confidence that she will and is very lightly raced having only made 3 starts.

Graffard is one whom I’ve found it difficult to figure out.

This quote from the racing manager I found highly interesting.

We had long hesitated between the Saint-Alary and the Emirates Poule d'Essai des Pouliches. The Poule d'Essai being a classic and a Group 1, we finally chose this race. Its performance was very good. We are not certain that she is a true 1,600-meter filly. She has speed, but her pedigree shows that she can hold 2,000m. The Poule was only her third race... Mandanaba is a very generous filly. She likes to be ridden close to the head, which is an advantage in Chantilly when the terrain is good. Mandanaba has a nice story. His mother, Mandesha, was a champion for Princess Zahra, but at the stud farm she did not produce very well. She has now retired, enjoying with Zarkava and her other girlfriends! Mandanaba is her last product and the best she has given. It’s quite rare...'

Graffard won the Saint - Alary with the backed Gezora she’ll stay no problem. She beat their fancied runner Aubdudon Park who broke down on the gallops last Tuesday.

Entries often show what the stable are thinking and Mandaba is entered next for PRIX ROTHSCHILD 1m

Kinda strange when the racing manger says above she’s not a miler!

They were hoping for single digit draws for the their runners, Gezora has that. Something to keep in mind if playing.
Report Delashay • June 15, 2025 2:17 PM BST
Form lines and certain stable recent runners could point elsewhere away from the 1000 guineas.

Waiting now to see them in the pre parade and paddock.

Disappointed there’s no thread for this prestigious Group 1.

The only entry within it for the Arc is She’s Perfect by the way.

So see why some aren’t taking much notice.
Report differentdrum • June 15, 2025 2:25 PM BST
Some top fillies have won this, but with the possible exception of Sunly, this year's crop don't look up to much. These look a pretty average bunch. I thought about backing both Gezora and Hotheaded (in a later race) at 7/1 last night, but prices very much shorter this morning so left alone. I don't go along with the She's Perfect deserves to win stuff. She deserved to get thrown out last time. By a poor sire in Sioux Nation, stamina a big doubt, and that's however poor the field might look.
Report Delashay • June 15, 2025 2:25 PM BST
The reason why they wanted to draw low, was to be handy. Resin being it is seen as being difficult to come from behind on good ground at Chantilly.

Not a great renewal. A bit of a bun fight at the end. Fifth maybe one to take out after another shocking ride from Demuro. She finished best of all, and had he fought harder to hold a position, she would clearly have finished much closer. Possible she will turn it around in the Vermeille. I said before that they - although there is only one name that anyone knows - were bonkers not to take the offer for She's Peffect. You can talk about residual value, but she she doesn't have much of a pedigree at all. Trainer made some daft comments about french v english stewards and he was about as accurate in his assessment of her staying this trip.
