The forgotten horse. He needs a good pitch during the race though; his price is good.
By:
Fantastic looking horse and can't get his course record win in the Acomb out of my mind. The classiest horse in the race but obvious concerns regards ground. Still double figure odds was just too tempting.
By:
Good EW price 15/2 top 5 and 8/1 top 4.
By:
Sweat pulled hard first furlong and half, never looked comfortable, then stopped a furlong and bit out and allowed to cruise home. Different hoss today.?
By:
Big Davey leading him up.
By:
Tactics today will be interesting.
By:
Good luck trying to work this Firm out
By:
In-running to play this horse.
By:
I fancy it to run big. Needs to settle much better obviously, but good reasons to suggest that he might.
By:
That's fine if you are happy with winning a cup of tea implausible
By:
Three running for me against the field, SG, Lion and Damy
By:
No bet for me
By:
wouldn't be a place bet for me 9/1 win only about right imo
By:
Tough watch but one horse race
By:
Fantastic by the ballydoyle boys. Simply the best
By:
moore seething put up one beating 2 furlongs by theb horse in the box next door and halved in price to do so
By:
I am certain that Delacroix backers will agree TMB
By:
fav was a poor price either way
By:
Left the winner alone as expected him to be gunned to make the pace. Which he was, but somehow still nothing got near him. A real mess in behind though.
By:
Just the 22L turn around with the fav
By:
Hopefully you don't take trial form at face value
By:
completely different race
By:
I never back any of theirs if there is more than one runner barring an obvious pacemaker
By:
Cider is correct.
By:
Slightly disappointed as I backed him to finish last. He wasn't that far off. Couldn't understand why there was any optimism. Everything has obviously gone wrong since the Acomb. Short of retirement you couldn't have got a much worse bulletin than that at the start of the season.
By:
And,of course, all bulletins from Coolmore are the Gospel truth DD
By:
how many have the luxury of 3 darts and your outside of 3 beats the fav 25 length and your 2nd best is tailed off, like mullins just a numbers game,he,s probably got a dozen more including fillies at home he can slot in between these 3 somewhere
By:
Nevertheless,a great Trainer
By:
There was enough in the Dante to suggest he could bounce back, as so many of AOBs do. So then it's about price. Enough in the price to have a stab at a few as the fav looked very short. It's a lot easier after the race though.
By:
Aiden the king of Epsom. What a trainer.

He behaved ok today. A few pressing questions though post Derby. Did he stay? Was it Epsom his undoing today? And, more impertinently has he trained on?
I'd find it difficult to back The Lion In Winter ever again until he wins at least a Gp2 race. But, Lambourn was a deserving winner. He was good at Chester. He also ran very creditably at Leopardstown when behind Delacroix of 10f. |
By:
A most deserved winner. Lordan so near to a classic double.
By:
relieved AOB,s other 2 wernt behind so no decision to make

By:
interesting to hear that The Lion In Winter has just recovered from a bad dose of Ringworm, clearly affected him this spring.
By:
fri AOB interview with lydia PREPERATION COULDNT HASVE GONER BETTER
booby, stanley, adele, and another dozen MSM pundits in the paddock said ZERO williams on luck covered in head to foot with dead ringworm, not that i no how that effects a horse sickness, performance |
By:
I remember ringworm being blamed for Nijinsky's defeat in the Arc. There used to be a saying that if you thought you had two derby horses in the yard you had none, that has been blown out of the water this century.
