Hands up here, after that drift last week, I definitely thought The Lion in winter wouldn't have been in the line up and probably not seen again.
The market between now and off time, will be really interesting. |

They had to make sure the draw was done with complete integrity. That's why Martin Dwyer was one of the people chosen to do it.

Martin Dwyer? Was he a NH or Flat jockey? I barely remember backing any of his mounts.

Having googled the race where Sir Percy won I cannot recollect anything about it. I must have been out of the country or it was a very poor renewal; the French horse Visinder (fav) and Horatio Nelson I'm still totally oblivious. Anyway thanks guys for the heads-up.
Jodami, yes. I remember the jockey wore a green silk, and the trainer was also a farmer. I liked the horse. |

to all us JODAMI lovers, means one thing 66,s shot SIBTON ABBEY running him down in the hennesy ,still hurts to think about it today

Impossible you might recall Gorgeous George Washington won the 2000 Guineas that year - Sir Percy was Second.
George loved true fast ground but didn’t really come up with much after, so was sent to a hick deep slop track at the breeders cup where Mik Kinnan got off after he broke down a terrible sight for a young race fan to see - never should have ran. The only time when hindsight was NOT needed! Barsteros! |

'Delashay', sorry but no. I cannot remember George Washington. I was into horseracing ok, but at the time I was focused more on the proper premier trainers eg Cecil, Stoute, Harwood, Vincent O'Brien, Cumani, Fabre and Head. Also work, but no AOB. I cannot even remember Camelot however, I remember watching a video of Piggott winning on Nijinsky.
In those days horseracing was merely punting on the day unless it was a principal runner in The Guineas, and trained by one of my considered premier trainers. |
