Timeform logoAnalyst's Verdict

FRESH FADE shades preference ahead of Gavoo in a maiden likely to throw up a number of future winners. The latter chased home one who is already established as useful (and may well prove to be smart) on debut at the Curragh with Innumerable close up in third. He won't go down without a fight, but Fresh Fade also shaped well first time out in a race won by a potentially smart colt in Charles Darwin at Naas and he is open to plenty of improvement. Summer Is Tomorrow is also shortlisted.   Wealth Warning

A couple of interesting 2yo stats (admittedly from tiny samples so far):

1) Richard Fahey hasn't had a 2yo winner yet this season from 26 runners (including 2 in Ireland), he normally runs at about 12%. So not an incredible stat but a very poor start for him this year.

2) As Mr. Potts often used to point out. Tim Easterby's 2yo are usually campaigned for Nurseries and they're traditionally worth a look for laying purposes on their first few runs - He's usually about 4% overall (including the Nurseries) for his 2yo's. This year he's 6 from 33 already (18%) before a Nursery has been run.

That's why you can't dine off historical stats. Fahey's stable has seemed pretty out of sorts all year, it's only a matter of time though with him (going from historical stats!)

Agreed, but it steered me towards a cheeky little place lay of his Come On Over (14:45 Chester) yesterday.

Apologies for after-time - but I don't think the thread owner is too bothered about it tbf.

Only looking because of this thread so:-

The Listowel race has 17 runners which is an awful lot of green 2yo's getting in each other's way. I like the favourite, Summer is Tomorrow but might throw a couple of darts at big-priced pedigrees.

There's a juvenile fillies' maiden there as well where Femme Beauty and Luna Mia look decent. Magny Cours too, potentially.

3.30 Nottingham, Charlie Boyo is odds-on and rightly so but Wild Thoughts, the complete rag, is taking a big drop in class after flopping last time out. Ambishio, OP's selection, is the oldest horse in the race which counts for a lot this time of year.

DAMN. MIssed the first race typing this. Bound to have backed the winner too.

Fahey on record saying his better 2 yr old especially colts will be out in next 10 days or so,hoping they,ll earn a place in royal ascot 2 yr old races, I,m 0 from 1 ,having backed the shortie at Hamilton last week, but will be having a go at the fancied ones in next 2 weeks

Not at all. It is us that should be apologising for livening up your thread.

As well as apologising for my after-time. I feel we should all also say sorry for the specifics, the detail and the tiny amount of original thought.

You bet your selection in a match bet with the odss-on jolly?

Nice. How much did you win. BlushLaugh

I'm not really a fan of "statistics" as a stand-alone factor - but I thought the two I posted were marginally more interesting that your two opening posts and a copy & paste. it looks like the other 3 posters on this thread agreed.

That doesn't seem to have worked for you. Still dull as ditchwater.

And yes, I could tell from your insightful write-up that use pedigree. Chum.

1) I thought you were clued up, so I'm surprised you think he's new - he's been starting worthless threads under multiple user names for many years.
2) If you want more new threads just stating the name of a runner (and if you're lucky, sometimes the time of the race), more fool you imo.
3) My pup looks like he's thinking outside the box. The forum input from the Opening Poster suggests he might be locked in a box with the lid nailed down.
4) Laybet Favourite (time and meeting to follow, after the race)

Well done 1tp - A rough race - but most enjoyable!

He breaks his 2yo duck for the season, but still on just 2 from 49 (last 2 weeks - all ages) - Hopefully turned a corner and they come along like buses now.
