I was reading the e/w thread, it really makes you think. I this case 52 bets and only 2 got a return.

Ask yourself - would you like to lay the 26 place bet element of that bet - the answer is definitely yes!
Obviously the answer should be the same for the 26 win bet element as well - But I still probably wouldn't.

A fair outlook. I know I'm not gonna win the Lottery, I know it's terrible value. I still throw two quid at it and buy a ticket from time to time. Not directly comparing the two - but there are similarities.

At least with the lottery you've proably only got to win it once. With max payouts now with dubious t&cs due to race class etc, hitting it once will not get you the million.
