The Clerk of the Scales objected to GETAWAY DRUMLEE (IRE), placed second, ridden by Elliot England and trained by Ben Pauling, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 11st 4 lb, having weighed out at 11st 6 lb. The rider, England’s Valet, the trainer’s representative and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed, being a 10lb conditional England was companied in the enquiry by a senior rider. As the Stewards were unable to establish an explanation for the weigh difference, England was suspended for 2 days and Pauling was fined £500.
