Newmarket is a hard town.
But Kieran Shoemark was not dismissed for one ride. Afaik Greville Starkey was, and it killed him really. |
|
By:
Shoemark is a better rider than Keane imv..
|

Well, John Gosden has given Kieran Shoemark the opportunity to prove that now.
I wish him luck. |

Karma is waiting for Big John.

The Frankel riding arrangement was the surprise of the decade…..maybe since time began….
Judmontte couldn’t possibly go against the gentleman of the turf… |

Well I guess Tom Queally wasn't doing Cecil's wife, so that may have helped.

What would Mr Gosden have said if the horse had not won? The horse was positioned wide at the back, with no cover. Was that a good ride?
|
|
By:
The way it won today made the earlier defeat of Field Of Gold look like a 1 in 10 accident.
I would say John Gosden is completely vindicated. |
|
By:
On Colin Keane riding going forward he added:- “I wouldn’t see much reason to change things but those aren’t my decisions.
“Obviously Colin knows the horse now so I don’t see any particular reason to change that. Barry Mahon is probably the man who will decide on all of that.” |

Big John makes the big decisions end of story....Of course he has the good grace to let Judmontte have a wee say.

Remember Queally almost getting Frankel beat in the St James Palace or Queen Anne.
Fine margins, I suppose. Never looked like getting beaten again. But then, was never campaigned with adventure. Would be a crying shame if the jockey's limitations were a factor in those decisions. |

Don't see Field Of Gold getting beaten again over a mile this summer.

On soggy ground I think it would be likely. Just put Hollie on board.

Newmarket is a hard town. But Kieran Shoemark was not dismissed for one ride. Afaik Greville Starkey was, and it killed him really. Starkey never got sacked he remained stable jockey for Guy Harwood, in fact he rode Dancing Brave after Epsom, he didn't ride it in KG cos he was injured. By the time the arc came Eddery had signed a retainer for the Prince and rode all his horses wherever they were trained. |
