Report scoobytoo May 23, 2025 7:02 PM BST
4/6 to stand was crazy...may go....probs should...may not
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:04 PM BST
no doubt it's a tricky one...

not involved personally...

but if i was a stewards he'd get the boot.
Report scoobytoo May 23, 2025 7:04 PM BST
only things for certain the 3rds not going to get it
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:05 PM BST
Thrice 1.5 now...
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:05 PM BST
you'd certainly think it's hard to give it to the 3rd scooby.
Report howard May 23, 2025 7:07 PM BST
minutes into a mature market total flip flop    someone been given the nod ?
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:09 PM BST
there was a major flip flop the other day howard...

and they got it wrong...

or hooverers hit the wrong button..

can't remember now tbh.
Report scoobytoo May 23, 2025 7:13 PM BST
they might file it in the too difficult to judge category in that do they make the winner 3rd ??
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:13 PM BST
Thrice 1.44 now...

Shocked
Report uptheirons May 23, 2025 7:15 PM BST
I layed the third at 50
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:16 PM BST
if Thrice gets it i suppose they could put the Aga Khan horse 3rd scooby...

it interfered with the 3rd who interfered with Thrice.
Report jamee1 May 23, 2025 7:18 PM BST

Report scoobytoo May 23, 2025 7:18 PM BST

Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:19 PM BST
poor effort from Coen that...

young lad and all that but poor imv.
Report Crawford May 23, 2025 7:19 PM BST
Had to be.  Layed Thrice for some but right call to demote Coen's mount.
Report FOYLESWAR May 23, 2025 7:20 PM BST
had too really considering it done most of the field !
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:22 PM BST
btw fair play to Fran Berry for saying poor from Coen...

as someone who regulary sl@gs them off for saying nowt it would have been easy to say horse hung etc...

shouldn't have to praise them for saying what they see but that's what it's come to now i'm afraid to say.
Report howard May 23, 2025 7:24 PM BST
straight after the race didn't he say fpp would keep it though ?
Report HappyHibby May 23, 2025 7:26 PM BST
i didn't hear that tbh howard.

Report Rico-Dangleflaps May 24, 2025 12:37 AM BST
the interference was 1:50
Report Rico-Dangleflaps May 24, 2025 12:42 AM BST
didnt realise winner was placed 3rd...so stewards took the view the winner has cost the 3rd a closer place.
Report HappyHibby May 24, 2025 6:51 AM BST
stewards clearly took the decision that the original 3rd would have beaten the original winner without the interference Mr.Hunt...

which was the correct decision as stated at 20:27 last night.
Report HappyHibby May 24, 2025 6:54 AM BST
the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that B.M. Coen was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly so they suspended him for four racedays. In arriving at the penalty of four days the Raceday Stewards took into account the riders clean record as well as the accuracy and honesty of his evidence.
Report HappyHibby May 24, 2025 6:59 AM BST
looking at the stewards panel at the Curragh last night i see Mr C.P.Magnier...

which i found rather interesting.
Report asire May 24, 2025 9:03 AM BST
Colin Magnier, a former leading amateur jockey, best known for riding For Auction to win the 1982 Champion Hurdle for Michael Cunningham, son of the late Clem Magnier, trainer. He's been on Irish stewarding panels for a long time...
Report HappyHibby May 24, 2025 10:26 AM BST
ok cheers asire...

wasn't sure if there was any family connection to John Magnier but it would appear not to be the case (which is good imv).
Report asire May 24, 2025 10:44 AM BST
There is a family connection in fact, but Colin's father Clem moved to County Meath in the 1950s and made his name independently of the Grange Stud operation which J Magnier took over as a teenager following the early death of his father, Tom Magnier, in 1962. Clem (1917-2015) was a fabulous character, very much his own man. In my experience, Colin, much better qualified for a stewarding role than many of his colleagues by virtue of his amateur riding career, has a similar outlook and takes his stewarding responsibilities seriously. The old Turf Club system produced some shockingly inept stewards at Irish tracks over the years, the standard under the IHRB continues to be variable (to be polite!) but C P Magnier is one whose race-reading ability and integrity are not in doubt....
Report HappyHibby May 24, 2025 11:20 AM BST
glad to hear that asire...
