Just watched this program on BBC and what really struck me was the dedication of all the staff both in the control room and the ambulance staff, both jobs under intense pressure. What really struck me were the 2 young men(ambulance crew) who were so kind and understanding to an elderly lady with dementia and other problems and completely showed that there are some really great caring young men still around, working very hard in London. Also the young man working in the control centre who cared deeply about how long some people were having to wait for an ambulance as they had to prioritise calls. He was so proud to work for the NHS which he described as a wonderful organization. It was only towards the end of the program that i noticed he himself was wheelchair bound. An eye opening and thought provoking program.
Couldnt agree more, you couldnt wish for 2 better young lads to turn up if you were taken ill, I am a full time carer for my Mother who has dementia so I like to think I know a bit about it and the way they treated that lady who has dementia was top notch caring and also the fact they noticed she needed outside help with a referall was about as good as you could wish for.
