Being placing bets pre race every time I go to process the order the price moves against me 90% of the time I strongly believe the market markers know what your about to do and move the price or withdraw liquidity and over override is always matched at the lowest price is it time to put the cue in the rack this year alone am 45k down on horses every other sport greyhounds basketball football cricket in the green but racing is like a cancer I desperately need a cure but believe this disease with no cure lol

Had a record month in December best since 2019 when sid pictures were fast couldn't put a foot wrong turn of the year can't pick my nose I really thought the betfair allowance would improve things but it's just got worse technology needs to improve the time delay improvement on atr was a complete waste of time everyone still decade's behind its criminal

Strangling themselves from what I can see, I dont bet in running because it has been obvious from the day I joined that all things are not fair for all men ( in running ).

Surely it would be in their own interest to provide as near a level playing field as possible ?

Lots more playing makes for lots more liquidity. Some of the storys on here from seasoned in running players make you wonder if the deck is stacked.

GC, they owned the golden goose, a virtual monopoly on exchange betting, guaranteed commission for however long, but they wanted more.

uptheirons, football betting's not for me, good for traders though, as for consistently picking the right result from the 3, tough gig.

uptheirons, am I right that initial seeding was provided by external parties on favourable rates which then became in-house?

correct swifty...

started going downhill when Premium Charges came in to play...

they were told they would kill the golden goose through their shameless greed...

and look where we are now...

struggling to get 6 figures total matched in some races...

hideous imv.

swifty...

external parties 'seeding' is one thing...

and you just have to look at certain markets to know that is pretty obviously happening...

but what about external parties not only 'seeding' but actually playing along with the rest of us ?

and if i was a 3rd party in that position i think i would want certain benefits thrown in - wouldn't you ?

@boga

"every time I go to process the order the price moves against me 90% of the time"

Can I ask you the same question I asked hulk when he claimed this years ago?  Which of the following do you believe?

- you (and hulk, I guess?) are being singled out for special treatment - the market moves against you, but thereby in favour of 50% of other punters?
- everyone (or many) are being treated this way, and in order to make that possible everyone is shown a set of prices specifically tailored against them?

I think we know the real answer longbridge , it happens to plenty if not all of us but only a select few seem to be turning it into some sort of compliment.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories - but Betfair could restore trust in their integrity by simply going back to the days when they were not active in their own markets.

Of course, they won't do that because they are making money by being active in their own markets - so the conspiracies (that they have an unfair advantage) will abound and probably continue to gain support.

Once they became active in their own markets - it was always going to cast doubt on their honesty and integrity imo.

Hayden - honestly not sure I do know the real answer - my personal guess is paranoia by hulk etc but if it's a real effect I have no idea what is actually happening.
By:

When: 15 May 25 10:24
The fact that they tried to "sneak" in the cross-matcher without telling anybody or making an announcement (until discovered) doesn't help with regards to their integrity imo. But then again they have always been sh1te at communicating.

When: 15 May 25 10:29
seeding, cross-matching etc are all very well if 'best execution' is at play, but i think we all know it isn't , a lot happens in that 1 second (at least for those with an over-ride).

Hayden is spot on imv...

and when it comes to in running trading..

we should NEVER NEVER forget that the 1 second in running delay WE have is a huge amount of time for 'them' to make calculations and act accordingly imv...

be that hopping in front of the Q or submit a 'cancel quick before that sm@rt @rse gets our cash' request imv...

all just my view and of course there is no proof but i'm entitled to my opinion on that subject tbh.

TWICE in the last couple of weeks i have noticed this...

money in the PINK box which has sat there for about 10 seconds...

i waited and waited and waited...

and the very millisecond i click on it guess what happened ?

first one it vanished and i got nowt...

second one there was £10 sitting there and i got £3 and someone else (cough cough wink wink) got the other £7...

i'd love to hear some of the 'nowt to see here' brigade explain that one please ?

Yes swift - "best execution" was promised when they finally admitted (after they were found out) that the cross-matcher had been deployed. They even went as far as to redistribute the profit (from the fractions) made by the cross-matcher in Australian markets. Although iirc that is because the Australian regulator made them do so!

same brigade that think the £108 that appeared at the start of that chase looking for 11.5 immediately after i put up money at 12.0 was the sum total of what 14 pensioners wanted on the same horse, at exactly the same time.

them ?

paudy fked up that day.  unfortunately one fk up when ya playing that game, cats out the bag.

stick the 108's in pre-race, hard to spot.  not impossible.

stick one in 6 seconds into a 3 mile chase.  sticks out like a fookin beacon.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

was exactly the same scenario with the £20k 1.01 in the PINK photo person who always gets/got in first hulk...

they should have had an audible alert every time it happened coz it was so utterly blatantly obvious imv.
