Generally 16/1 for the Oaks. Disappointing on last start, but has a staying pedigree and step up in trip should be a big plus, but where is she? She would have been a big contender for any of the Oaks trials, but didn't turn up, and has no entries. Presumably, too late now for her to run, but the trainer as far as I know has said nothing. This horse and The Lion In Winter looked two obvious staying types last year, but who knows what the one will do next week, and Dreamy appears to have disappeared.

I am heavily involved myself DD. He has it entered in thew Irish 1000 12 days b4 the Oaks. My only consolation is that he did the same with Minding b4 she won at Epsom. She was beaten at 4/11 at The Curragh. However she had won the 1000G at Newmarket as well. We shall know our fate at declaration time on 23rd May I suspect.

I am surprised Dreamy even got a Classic entry at a mile. Those entries were made well in advance, and my guess, sadly, is that we will not be seeing her anytime soon. Even with the Curragh defeat, Minding went to the Oaks as a multiple Group 1 winner. O'Brien has so much ammunition that he probably won't care too much if this one has an undisclosed problem, and the Derby favourite bombs out next week.

Right on both counts, The Lion In Winter bombs and Dreamy a no show. The only chance you had of finding out anything was if someone in the media had backed it, and they would probably anything to themselves. I can't get excited about the market move for The Lion In Winter. There was absolutely no positive to take away from the York run, and I won't be at all surprised if he is a no show allowing the bookmakers to pocket a bit more ante-post money.

He a genius obrien but if he can turn the lion around then he will be god, that performance at York would worry anyone, it didn’t have a excuse like it didn’t perform it was a terrible performance before and in the race, wouldent suprise if it did not run and will wait till the final declorations, but they won’t let you know early as they have games to play and clever money to place

As the days pass lots of people are thinking like this.

Anyone read TS article why he’s not onboard with the gamble post Dante from the Weekender?

Hard to imagine some willing to disrespect a race like this…..

Anyone know the correlation between 2yo rating and 3yo rating for thoroughbreds? I suspect that it used to be higher than it is now. The likes of Brigadier Gerard, Mill Reef, Nijinsky were all top class 2yos but other more recent stars either had not even run at 2 or improve hugely at 3yo. Sea The Stars did not run in a Group 1 at 2 but did win a group 2. Workforce ran just once, winning a 7 furlong maiden. Golden Horn the same. All three won the Derby and the Arc.

It’s a trend more favoured by the French, Ace Impact was un raced at two, Sarafina. Last years Jockey Club winner Look De Vega had one late start, there’s many more.
