Do our American cousins still use that dosage nonsense for the Kentucky Derby?
GL on FM btw. He has been mainly racing on turf though. |

Sloppy going on dirt is fast. Think of a beach. If you walk on the part where the tide has just gone out it's much firmer than the rest of the beach. I'm not saying, given the right setup, runners can't come from the rear but don't discount front runners on account of sloppy going.

Are you saying its a front running track?
Based on results so far? ![]() |

Dirt races so far: 1st race Wire to wire
2nd race from mid pack 3rd race Wire to wire 4th race from well off pace 6th race wire to wire. So 3 from 5 races to the front runner. Of course, if the pace is too quick closers can win. The point is front runners are definitely not at a disadvantage because of the going. |

Sire Karakontie would have preferred a road. Haven't followed the trials, but had a very small bet on Juddmonte runner. Maybe he can make up for this afternoon's debacle. He will be right out the back, and hope to close.

Final Gambit made up a huge amount of ground despite swinging extremely wide and then becoming unbalanced. You would think he is the Belmont horse. Being too far back seemingly the order of the day for Juddmonte.
