I always worshipped the guy but now I realise how wrong I have been.
Little hairdresser played a huge part in getting DOZENS of stable lads and staff SACKED.

If my memory is correct, he is not the only one that rode to the start through the picket lines during that strike.

He is not the brightest in the game but credit to him when he stuck by Hern when he got ousted from West Isley stables and heavily criticised the landlord, HM Queen Elizabeth II. A deed which probably cost him a Knighthood.

.... forget "probably" and replace with "Certainly".

Never mind the amount of winners he rides despite the complications of his seriously compromised shoulder joint which is why his style is as it is?

All jockeys are basically weasels. Carson was a weasel who flourished in the golden age of British racing: Eddery, Cauthen and a second-tier who were born a generation too early. And above them all Lester Piggott near the height of his powers

Saw Carson at Cheltenham this year. He has shrunk to about 4'5''.

One thing ITV racing has been good at... showing the stable staff more and more. Some work all hours and it is like they do not exist.
