Stable lad still waiting on six-figure sum from bet he placed one year ago as bookie is refusing to pay out
Dylan Phelan (25) placed a €30 each-way double on Diamond Nora at 125/1 and on Rocky’s Diamond at 80/1 but the money hasn’t hit his bank
Ladbrokes says it is awaiting the results of an investigation into the races by racing authorities

If it was inside knowledge from a yard you would expect a few others waiting on pay outs too.

Have they paid out on the single bets, Surely he would not have just done the double?

I think he had bets that have been paid out according to the Link

He also had a Trixie running other horse was going well unseated rider

Thanks,
If they have paid up on some no excuse not to pay on them all.

This isn’t the slam dunk ,pay him,it looks.

It was in the shop, fair enough.

But he had similar smaller bets with other bookies, presume shops, maybe on line.

But why would you walk from shop to shop, given it was 30 quid ew,just put the 50 ew on in Ladbroke.
Clearly trying to hide the bet,go under the radar.given the massive odds, all very strange.
Can understand it on line cos of limit restrictions, plus not walking, just clicking.

Works in a stable,so hardly an everyday punter.

Given he looks like he’s tried to disguise his bets, plus he’s a young stable lad, think he didn’t identify these horse from astute form study.

So then your entering ,is he placing bets for someone else.young stable lad would be a good patsy.

If I was Ladbrokes I’d say,can we buy your phone records off you for 300k,you’d happily hand them over for the money.

apparently they had a 100k limit on the bet ( not sure the reason maybe type of race )  so looks like if he gets paid that will be it.

I believe a betting dispute between the bet owner and a bookie post an adjudication and investigation outcome issued by the governing body ie IHRB in favour of the bet owner must not be allowed to continue further without the disputed amount deposited by the bookie into an escrow account held by the regulator ie Irish equivalent to our Gambling Commission; the costs (case specific) of a legal challenge must also be paid by the bookie given an adjudication and investigation by the governing body sanctioning the result as correct, legitimate and within their statutory guidelines/terms and conditions.

Every bookie must apply the same criteria in determining a legitimate winning bet. Otherwise, a bookie could make a mockery of what constitutes a legitimate winning bet by using their own (spurious) interpretation or perception as this case has proven; a fund set-up using the contributions from every bookie issued with a betting/gaming licence similar to motor insurance against non-insured vehicular accidents.

Are there many betting disputes in other major horseracing or betting industry eg USA, Australia, France, Canada, etc?
