6/4 pokes that are 'awkward rides' are best left alone.

Punters more adept at producing one on the line with horses that can chuck it in if hitting the front too early, than professional jocks.Grin

It was a very poor ride. Oille called it right the first time and then was hen pecked into submission! Simp. lol

Yeah poor looking ride but likely would have won had it not hung left
off the golden highway.

The interview with Peter Harris afterwards when Harris referred to hid G1 winner Primo Valentina was interesting, as the horse wasn't successful as a sire and was sent to Iran in 2011. God knows how the poor creature ended it's days.......

Certainly a tricky ride but he'll be disappointed with the timing of his effort IMO

No margin for error when you leave it late

That was far worse.

Mission successful and no risk of criticism.

Trotted up last time but 9lb hike is a lot for a 6yo. I must admit he was my choice as the banker of the Balding bunch today but they still had 2 winners, a second and a third on a highly competitive day.

Agreed loper.
Barney decided to cheat from the front was the way to go

Fair play to him  he has given an explanation  of the ride on his site and apologised to connections and punters

The right way to react when you have got it wrong. He is a thinking jockey who is often critical of himself. As for feeding the lions, I assume Paddy means the punters who blame the jockey for every single horse that does not win when in reality it is only 5% of races where the jockey is clearly at fault. How many Premier League strikers can claim to hit the target even 50% of the time? Too many punters seem to forget that nearly every other jockey is trying to stop your choice from winning.

So much for the useless pair of presenters and their opinions.

It did look bad but I'd accept his explanation on ITV just then, even though he didn't need to be that far out of his ground early.

Has murphys bottle gone or has he some problem. His riding is so below acceptable for a top jockey. Just awful ride after another

yes fair play
was a badly misjudged ride but mistakes happen

biggest issue I have with all of this is the total bs defence from meg & adele on ITV
ganging up on anyone rocking the boat
needs calling out

Not too shabby on Berkshire Whisper, Regal Envoy, Sajir or Almeric recently. 12 wins from 57 rides.

Rarely will you hear an ex jockey criticise a ride except Ruby occasionally
