Southend United promotion bet 3 65 ( hills / victor 12/1 ) Follow this league extremely closely watch ALL matches on DAZN. Thought I would put it on my home forum rather than soccer. York City Forest Green Rovers Gateshead all going backwards. Only one top team in this league champions elect Barnet. Oldham and Rochdale doing OK but are no great shakes. Southend on a run and are impressive offensively. They are just outside the top 7 but should make it. If they get to Wembley will have 20,000 fans against say 3/4,000 FGR. Are they certs ? Of course not but believe me 20/1 ( just looked ) too big and by some way. GL.

Couldn’t find any market for it on here .Winner only on exchange and nothing I could see on Sportsbook.
Even if they get into the playoffs they have to beat three other teams to get promoted. 20/1 seems about right to me.

Especially as they're likely to be away in the playoff quarters and semis too.

thanks jamie but I am rather anti bookie these days. Only have accounts with a couple and don't plan on opening any more. Just put it up because I study this league in depth and the play offs are way more open than the betting suggests. There's no quality of Notts County finishing 2nd this year that's for sure.
I threw a few quid at Coventry at 8,s for promotion about 5/6 weeks ago under the same theory
yeah the teams that have been up there all season can SOMETIMES be overated. When my team ycfc got promoted to national league we finished 5th and then beat the 2nd away in the semi before beating the 7th in the final.
beat Oldham and still 20/1. Bit surprised by that. (Gateshead lose their 6th match in a row )
Southend fan here. Wouldent put anyone off if u can get 16s or 20s. We have a few players coming back from injury at the right time. Think we are 6/4 chance to make the playoffs and 11/4 from there. Likely to take at least 20k to Wembley (had 8.4k last home match).
Drifter to 20/1 with Dones now, they are same price in shops if you're UK based.
devils hoping we ( ycfc ) don't play you in the semi. The final would be a good advert for the league on the field and off. We would take 10k so a 30k+ crowd.

@Howard. Yes a final against you guys would be a good advert for the league. We have a lot of bon ami with YCFC particularly as your chairman gave 10K to our survival fund and your club helped out in other ways. If we dont get promoted I hope it is YCFC (and my mum lives in North Yorkshire!)

devils is the goalie a problem ? ( Hayes ) On the evidence of one of the goals at Boston and Saturdays late leveller I would have concerns.
Hi Howard. Sorry for the late reply. Saturday was the first time I have seen Hayes play live although I have watched him on DAZN stream before. Hard to tell about the goal he conceded but the fact is we have kept very few clean sheets since he replaced the injured andeng-ndi.
Not sure we have much chance of the play offs now....it is so typical of Southend to win or draw away at the top sides and then lose to a team below us that has not won in ages ...usually a Saturday Afternoon 3pm kick off with a big crowd. (8600 there on Saturday) Perhaps thats the best betting angle ?!!

devils with other results still think you have a pretty decent chance. Only watched the first 30 mins of Saturdays game but thought Solihull were way better than recent performances. Whether that's changing personel or not I don't know. I still think home fixtures against Braintree and Wealdstone plus away at Ebbsfleet should get good results though even the latter have improved. Hopefully for you ( and first one me ) York (H) Hartlepool (A) and Boston (A) is tough going for Gateshead.
They should recruit a few grannies from the old folks home to improve things in the final third. Can still pass Gateshead to death. Just need a goal in the match. And two wins first.

Impressively they kept clean sheets in each of their last four games and could be hitting form at the right time. If Southend can get past Rochdale they could have a decent chance.

thanks Howard I don't usually play on the footy but this post on the 23rd got me looking into it a bit closer and had a few bets on Southend and later Oldham not for fortunes but enough for me ,win or lose this is what the forum should be about , there is enough going on with the horses and other posters sharing knowledge could help others not so clued up on other events good luck if you got on .,I would never have looked at this type of bet tbh so it's a usefull and decent prices thanks again .

Of course it's a value thing. I see Southend briefly touched 66/1 at one point. I would have greened up anyway in a final with my club ycfc we are much better since "Clubman of the Year" Felix was moved from full back into midfield. But if it's an Oldham semi they are dangerous from set pieces. But we have something nobody has. Ollie Pearce.
Sarfend beat Rochdale 4-3 in ET after coming back from 3-1 down with 16 mins to go.
Should be good shrimpers turnout at FGR Deffo not an easy match but I make 'em favs to get through.

Great stuff OP. At the time I read this I had no access to bookmaker accounts. But you put some sound reasoning up for the bet. It's a shame a couple of the forum good guys like us couldn't wet our beaks on this bet.

Thanks WP. I will be giving jamee some stick if they win ! Plenty to do yet but they pass the ball better than Oldham. Football a lot more than that of course but it helps. Could be another very close game.

Gave both clubs 17500 tickets to begin with. Now increased to 21000. Southend fc has stated that they could sell 35000. Whoever is in charge hasn't got a clue.

plenty of supporters outside Essex who may have gone to many away games but as of now have not been able to get Wembley tickets. Some peeps made travel arrangements (including from USA, Australia and New Zealand) the Thursday after we beat FGR only to find the ticket restrictions put in place on the Friday

Don't feel too bad about it devils. We got up to national league after finishing 5th. Just a pity against Oldham we played a centre forward on the left wing and a winger at full back and moving the guy that had been a revelation at full back to his former centre back position. Blame the manager for not getting the depth required yet paying 350k for a striker Josh Stones that quite rightly rarely left the bench since buying him. Bit annoyed for Pearce though. Most of his goals were clever finishes we put next to nowt on a plate for him. He would have scored 40+ at Barnet

great watch but wouldn't have been if I had needed Southend for any BIG profit. Norwood finish total class. As a ycfc fan glad to see the back of much improved Oldham ( and their fans

from BORO as a kid,13/14/15 in early 70,s , we used to go to a sort of outward bound centre in some auld army barracks in hexam, base for a football tour for school team we played 3 games in geordieland .but for those interested they ran a mini bus to carlise one night for boro game and another yr they ran a trip to st james park on the sat to watch n,castle v man utd,we were in gallowgate over 50,000 there got that crowded they let kids like us watch it from the cinder track on side of pith,great days
